Let's cut to the chase. When I was 10, I wanted to be an Olympic Gymnast. My mom thought carpooling to the local dance studio for acrobatics class would suffice. Weirdly, it did. Soon enough, I was taking every type of class the studio had to offer. And learning every single dance in each year's recital. (Especially the ones I wasn't in.) Later, after a handful of dance injuries and doctors' office visits, I thought it might be cool to be a physician. I aced all the college prerequisites, even got my Master's in Science on a Fulbright scholarship, and then decided I'd rather be performing.
